Thanksgiving Road

Born in the Dabie Mountains, my family was very poor when I was a child. It was in the late 1970s, when China just started its reform and opening up. However, for places deep in the mountains, everything was still in the old age. There was no information, inconvenient transportation, and crops were carried by cattle. The main source of family income was sold by selling firewood and eggs. At that time, a load of firewood cost 50 cents and needed to be sold in a place with kilns for more than ten miles, This income is mainly used to buy salt, agricultural equipment and a small amount of cloth for clothes. Clothes are small and big. There are several rounds of patched clothes left. It's hard to put on a new pair of cloth shoes, make a new dress and eat a mouthful of meat all year round. Childhood can be described as "not enough to eat, not warm to wear". In the 1980s, when I was young, I began to go out to work. With a little income in one year, I began to turn over the thatched cottages that leak rain on rainy days and shine through on sunny days. I also started my school days, but it was still a poor mountainous area, only the living conditions improved a little. Most of the teachers were substitute teachers who graduated from junior high school or even primary school. Many students dropped out of school in the third, fourth or fifth grade because they didn't have tuition fees. So at that time, I was determined to leave this poor place when I grew up. In 1996, which was also a turning point in my life, I chose a way for rural children to get ahead of others, that is, to join the army. Fortunately, I came to Suzhou, a land of fish and rice. After five years of military life, I have developed the spirit of hard work, perseverance and self-discipline. After being demobilized, through my own efforts, one step at a time, I finally took root in Suzhou. Today's life is not rich, but it's also easy to eat and clothe. Whenever I go back to my hometown and see families still in trouble, I can't help but think about the smell of roast meat from someone's home five miles away when I was a child, and I want to do what I can for them. If you think about it again, there are many people and things that have helped you along the way. The heart of gratitude comes from it, and the road of gratitude goes from it. "Thanksgiving" does not necessarily need how much wealth you have, just need you to have a friendly heart! The happiness of life is not material enjoyment, but spiritual satisfaction. When you see the happy smile you help them, you will feel full of happiness! Extend your hand, let's move together on the road of Thanksgiving!
